Josh wanted to get an ex girlfriend back. He’d been in Iraq and was a soldier so he decided to make a battle plan to get an ex girlfriend back.
Josh’s ex, who was named Emily, had broken up with him when she met another man.This guy was a poet and while Josh knew that while Emily appreciated art, he knew that she wouldn’t ultimately be happy with someone whose idea of a good time was rhyming couplets. In short, the poet wasn’t the kind of man that Josh was.

The first thing he did was to to work on his looks and smooth out the rough edges. He grew out his crew cut and soon had a sylish haircut. Then he started reading books that Emily had recommended when they were together. His next prong of attack was to show her that he was a virile man that other women wanted. Josh called a friend of Emily’s named Jessica and asked her out to dinner. After that, Josh texted Emily to ask her advice about where to take Jessica.
RIght after that he got a call from Emily to ask why he was going out with Jessica. Josh just told her that since they broke up he was moving on. He mentioned that he had always thought Jessica was kind of interesting and decided to take the opportunity to get to know her a little better. If Emily didn’t like it, she ought to reconsider their break up.
When Emily hung up on him, Josh figured his plan was working just like he thought it would. He had left her thinking of him as a guy who was desirable to other women, an essential part of his get an ex girlfriend back plan.
Josh knew that Jessica would tell Emily all about their date, so he was a perfect gentlemen when he took her out. He brought her a rose, took her to a nice restaurant and talked about the great books he had been reading lately.
When he took her home, he gave Jessica a hug and kiss on the cheek, but that was all. Then, the next day he sent her flowers saying he’d had a good time and hoped she had too.
It worked like clockwork. Jessica called Emily right away to give her all the juicy details. She wanted to know why she had broken up with such a wonderful guy.
By this time, all the excitement and newness had faded in her relationsip with the Poet and she was missing Josh more than she had thought she would.
Emily called Josh a couple of days after he went out with Jessica. She asked him if they could have a fresh start and try getting back together again.
